Notes |
| Windows Vista |
Depending upon what version of Windows Vista you are
using, different issues may occur after software is installed. In most
cases, Vista fails to properly allow the Microsoft Installation program
from fully installing support files.
- For many eRCM packagers, Vista fails to properly install the
MSFlxGrd.ocx and MSInet.ocx files. (This
also includes Ajax's eAjax software.)
- For eRCM Viewer, Vista may fail to properly install the
3DChartM.ocx file.
You can force these files to properly re-install by doing the
following:
- Make sure that no eRCM software is running
- Browse to C:\Windows\System32
- Right-click on cmd.exe, select Run As, and run it with
Administrator Rights
- In the command window, type the following to uninstall the
components:
- regsvr32 /u msflxgrd.ocx
- regsvr32 /u 3dChartM.ocx
- In the command window, type the following to re-install the
components:
- regsvr32 msflxgrd.ocx
- regsvr32 3dChartM.ocx

| Corrupt Installations |
If an install fails to work, then uninstall any previous
version first, then retry the install. Uninstalling eRCM software
will not remove any data
files you created. |
| Installation Rights |
For Windows NT, 2000, XP and Vista, you should have
Administrative Rights when installing the software. |
| Server Installation |
ACI software is designed for installation onto
individual PCs, laptops and workstations.
ACI software is not designed for
installation onto Windows Servers. |
| Check for Updates |
For most ACI software, click on Help in the menu bar,
then select Update. Your computer will need to have access to the
Internet for this option to function correctly. |
| Updating No Longer Works |
If your update feature fails to work properly, browse to
the installation page of the software that is having the problem, and
download and install the ACI Update Patch. Then, rerun your ACI
software. If updating still fails to work properly check your firewall. |
| Registration |
eRCM, eRodLoads, and eThumbnails are commercial software
packages. They need to be fully registered with ACI before all of their
features can be used. To register on of these packages, call ACI at
1.740.435.0240 x508. You need to have the software installed on your PC
prior to calling ACI. |
| Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000 |
All of the ACI software is designed to run on all
Windows(R) platforms, including the earlier versions of Windows 95, 98,
Me, NT, and 2000. However, for the ACI software to properly function,
all Windows service packs need to be installed. |
| Windows XP/Vista |
ACI software performance is optimized for Windows
XP/Vista. |
| PC Security |
ACI software only accesses the Internet when you tell it
to look for updates.
ACI software only accesses e-mail when you tell it
to send a data file. Furthermore, all initiated e-mail is directed to your default
e-mail software, which does the actual sending. |
